DRYARN®

Dryarn® is a polypropylene microfibre that does not absorb sweat but pushes it out. It is the fibre used in most Spark technical underwear: shirts, base layer pants, balaclavas, neck warmers, socks and glove liners. The result on the bike is simple: dry skin, no odours and a garment you barely feel.

How it works

Polypropylene is naturally hydrophobic: it does not hold water. Sweat is not absorbed by the fabric but pushed outwards within minutes, where it evaporates. With no moisture on the skin, bacteria do not multiply, so the garment does not pick up bad odours, wash after wash.

Why it matters on the bike

  • Dry under your jacket and suit: even in summer, even stopped at the lights.
  • No chills when you stop: a wet base layer gets cold, a dry one does not.
  • Extremely light: Dryarn® is one of the lightest fibres there is and adds no bulk under your riding gear.
  • Close-fitting without squeezing: seamless technology follows your movements in the saddle.

Which Dryarn® garment to choose

It depends on the season: Ultralight for summer (Sunny, Sunny+), Light for mid-season (Bluby), Medium for all four seasons (Blazy, Brio), Heavy for winter. Full explanation in the fabric weight guide.

Frequently asked questions about Dryarn®

Does Dryarn® make you sweat more?

No. Dryarn® does not absorb sweat: it pushes it outwards, so your skin stays dry even after hours in the saddle or in traffic.

Is Dryarn® good in winter too?

Yes. The fibre insulates from the cold and, because it stays dry, it avoids that chilly feeling when you stop. For winter, choose Medium or Heavy garments.

How do I wash a Dryarn® garment?

In the washing machine or by hand at 30°C (some models also at 40°C, as shown on the label), without bleach or harsh detergents. It dries very quickly.
